We all have stories, as in this photo of me and one of my pieces hanging in a gallery, the Penwith Gallery, in St Ives, Cornwall.
I had many stories and they went like this in my head, maybe you can recognise some of them too:
" I need to get it right"
" I am not creative"
" I don't belong"
" I need other peoples approval"
" I am so behind"
" I will probably fail"
Those stories don't just live in our heads, they influence our decisions.
Our relationships and our work.
And yes...that also means our photography.
Photography simply makes them visible. But not because there is something wrongs with us, because the camera slows us down enough to notice.
That's the transformation, not healing through photography, but becoming more aware through photography.
Awareness creates choice, and that creates self trust.
Self trust changes how we live, and photography is simply the practice.
