Capturing Confidence: Finding Calm

January 25, 20252 min read

How to use your mobile to heal, not harm

Since mobiles took over , our minds are constantly distracted:

Checking emails first thing in the morning

Constantly checking social media

Doom scrolling ( checking the bad news)

In that distraction we lose the connection to our bodies.

Too often we are feeling aches and pain, exhaustion, back pain, neck pain, losing sleep and eating foods that no longer serve us just to distract us from the stress

When I embraced a practise of orienting on a daily basis, usually when I was out walking with my camera , I found I was able to not only see more detail but feel calmer, a reconnection to my environment and myself.

In the attached link below, is a 2 minute lesson on how to practise orienting.

A word of warning - it is so simple many will disregard it and not bother.

And I totally get that because that was me - for more than a year!

More than a year! Can you believe it? I thought it was a boring exercise to do!

What are the benefits of this?

  • Improving concentration as you reduce distractions.

  • Reduced stressful reactions to life, decreasing anxiety or overwhelm.

  • Improved self awareness, feeling more bodily reactions and being kinder to the body

  • Confidence, improving how you feel about yourself as you move through the world.

  • Greater ability to manage negativity and stress when they arise in your life

  • Feelings of being more grounded

Whats not to love? And if you think you would love more of this " feeling grounded" in your nervous system, then my new free Calm in the Frame Playbook is just for you.
